Idea and Concept

The focus of the 2011 edition of the „To Culture With Love. Management“ (TCWL.M) workshop will be put on international exchange and sharing of (new) ideas of how to make the project based on working environments within the creative/cultural field more sustainable.

Topics to discuss are „new“ forms of working environments (CoWorking, Working Collectives etc.) as well as the question of how to make a living on producing immaterial values in a more and more networked environment fostered for example by social networking tools over the internet. What happens if as Lawrence Lessig says „Technology is favoring the social“1 nowadays but Mark Granovetter in a related context states that an increasing „Social embeddedness“2 of work will have a significant influence on one‘s possibility to make money with that work?

We have to share already existing ideas of how to approach those issues and come up with new ones as we as the „young generation“ will most likely work to a growing extend in those „social embedded“ working environments than previous generations. Still we need to make this working environment sustainable which is in many ways not the case at the moment.

To Culture With Love. Management 2011 will focus on the sharing and creation of new ideas amongst young professionals and students working within the European creative/cultural field. Therefor we want to focus on the exploration of existing and uprising working environments in Berlin/Brandenburg (Potsdam) and the discussion/development of those approaches.

The event will take place at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (FHP), in Potsdam Germany from 13th to 16th of February 2011. Participants from all over Europe are welcome to join us free of charge to create a future perspective for a sustainable working environment for the creative/cultural field!
