Practical Information
Participation Fee
There is none, this year! :) Participating is free of charge.
Registration
Even though there is no participation fee, we ask you to register in order to take part of the workshop.
This allows for us to better plan the tracking tours and the reception on Sunday evening as well as the boarding during all the workshop days.
If you have registered and can't come, please leave us a note to assure we can pass on the free place.
Accomodation
Unfortunately we are not able to provide you with accommodation paid by us this year. :(
We negotiated some special prices for you with HochDrei e.V. (http://www.hochlland.de/e/index.html):
- They have two houses where they offer accommodation - Am Bassin and Hochlland, Brandenburger Str. 37 or Holzmarktstr. 3 in 14467 Potsdam.
- A shared room with maximum 4 people would cost you 19€ instead of 22€ per night and person, without breakfast.
- The codeword is "To Culture With Love. Management".
- They also offer single and twin rooms on request.
The youth hostel Potsdam "Haus der Jugend" has a winter special going on at that time and offers nights including breakfast for 16€ per person. It's a general special so there's no codeword. You can find the contact details at http://www.jugendherberge.de/en/hostels/search/portrait/jh.jsp?IDJH=671.
In addition there are plenty of options for accommodation in Berlin. It takes approximately one hour from Berlin Alexanderplatz to the Campus of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. (With regional express train RE1 and Tram 92/96.)
Location of the event
The event will take place at the Campus Pappelallee of the University of Applied Sciences Potsadam, but on Monday the 14th of February we will have explorational tours in Berlin and Potsdam. You will get further information for those tours at the workshop.
The address of the Campus Pappelallee is Pappelallee 8-9, 14469 Potsdam, Germany.
You can get to the Campus easily with the local tram 92 or 96 from Potsdam main station. The stop is "Campus Fachhochschule".
Potsdam
Potsdam is the Capital of the German Federal State Brandenburg. It's located south west of Berlin and home to approximately 155.000 inhabitants.
You can find more information on Potsdam at the official webpage or in the Wikipedia.
Public Transport
It is easy to get around in Potsdam with local busses and trams. There is a frequent connection to Berlin with the S-Bahn (S7) and regional trains (RE1, RE7). You can get information on tickets at the ViP (Potsdam) and the VBB (Berlin / Brandenburg region). There is the possibility to buy for example a Berlin Welcome Card ABC which would cover public transport in Berlin and Potsdam.
